Local Forecast (LF) was an online store and storytelling platform representing artists and design brands exploring fresh, creative culture in Sri Lanka. The platform brought together creatives who do original work, have socially inclusive models and are working towards being environmentally sustainable. The platform promoted collaboration, supported creative businesses and cultivated the creative ecosystem in Sri Lanka.
LF was an independent business, run by a team of five people. It was founded in response to needs of artists and designers seeking collaboration, affordable and value-aligned partners and access to larger consumer markets to sustain their creative businesses.
Co-founding a business has been a practice of taking strategic risks, balancing conflicting needs, adapting to changing contexts like the pandemic and thinking across macro and micro decisions.
